Welcome to the magical Continent of Africa, a place we are proud to call home.

Explore Kruger Park Safaris was founded by Merle and Sean Ryan. As early pioneers in the safari and overland travel industry in southern Africa our journey began in 1994 and with our 25 years of experience we would like to share our love for all things African with like-minded travelers and adventurers.

Our early beginnings saw us spending most of our time operating camping safaris in the world renowned Kruger National Park.

During this time we got to share our passion and intimate knowledge of the Kruger Park guiding thousands of clients from across the globe through the unspoilt wilderness that Kruger is so famous for.

Our journey continued on to operate a fleet of Overland Trucks throughout Southern Africa for many years, memories which we will always hold close to our hearts. Twenty five years on and we have come full circle and back to where it all started, back to our roots, The Kruger National Park.

Through our experiences as well as being locals, we have gained valuable knowledge on what it takes to provide the most memorable Safari experiences possible. We pride ourselves in service excellence at all times.

As Kruger Park Safari specialists we are also the proud owners of Thornhill Safari Lodge, situated amongst well known Private Game Reserves and bordering onto the World renowned Kruger National Park.

Our passion for the Kruger National Park is unending so whether it be tracking the Big Five on an open Safari vehicle on one of our scheduled Safaris, experiencing the thrill of encountering Big Game on foot on one of our walking safaris or spotting an endangered bird species on one of our tailor- made birding or special interest safaris, we offer Kruger Park experiences to suite your every desire.

No Safari experience would be complete without adding the elements of local culture and traditions into the mix. Africa is a cauldron of magnificent cultures so whilst on Safari please immerse yourself in these cultures whilst making a positive difference within the communities in which you travel.

Guides and Drivers

Our guides and transfer drivers are an integral part of Explore Kruger Park and the most important link between our Company and our clients. Our team are all African born and bred and are friendly, knowledgeable, qualified and registered with the various guiding and Tourism institutions in South Africa. All guides undergo comprehensive training courses that include all aspects of wildlife and nature guiding as well as local cultural aspects of the regions in which they guide. Our team members are chosen for their Leadership skills, are extremely passionate about what they do and are wonderful ambassadors for our Company and beautiful Continent.
